Easter Trip away....

Easter is such a big thing over here in Australia, we got the Friday and Monday off work plus all the supermarkets and shops etc are closed on Easter Friday and Sunday! you would not think that would be the case for a capital City!!!

So we decided to take full advantage of the time off and head on an adventure! Since I have been travelling the idea of Camping did not scare me so much...well we settled for a camper van, the best bit....it was called a Juicy Lucy!!! cute eh!

We decided to head down the South coast to an area called Jervis Bay and booked in a little campsite in a small town called Huskisson. The adventure started on Friday morning when Ali went to pick up the Juicy Lucy and we hit the road! The Traffic was unbelievable! it was so busy and took us around 4.5 hours to do a 2 hour drive!

We arrived at the Campsite to discover it was right by a lovely beach...perfect! so first thing was to set up- okay parked the van! then we decided to relax a bit

Ali taking it easy at the Campsite!

Once we sussed out the Campsite we took a walk along the beach and headed to Huskisson to have a look round! It was a small town with lots of Shops and Cafes! we saw an old style ice cream van, so needless to say I had a Whippy cone!!

After we walked around we went into the Huski pub for a tipple to discover it was Happy hour and all drinks were $2!! needless to say we stayed for a good while longer and then headed to an near by Indian for a Curry!

We then headed back to the Campsite in the Pitch black! ( it gets dark at 6pm here now!) and it took us a while to get our bed set up!

It was actually very comfy!

We were woken up very early by the sound of Kids running outside!

Ali making the breakfast!

We then decided to take a stroll the other way in to Jervis bay, it was such a nice walk by the sea and we passed some amazing houses!!

Ali decided to test the water, bit cold!

The Next Day was Easter Sunday and we knew that they were having Markets etc in Huskison so decided to check it out! There were lots of stalls selling food and nick nacks! Not to mention a little petting zoo! It was full of baby farm animals....so cute! I should have taken a photo but I was too engrossed!

We then came across a Scottish pipe band!

We headed back to Huskisson at night time as they were having a fireworks display...it was really good! we managed to get a spot outside the back of the Huski pub!

The last day of our trip Ali was determined to go for a swim in the sea....I decided it was too cold so looked after the stuff!!!

Feet in first!

Second thoughts maybe not!

Bye Bye Campsite.....

We had a great weekend, really relaxing and nice to get away from the City!

V Festival

Sorry for the late post! It has been a very busy few weeks at work preparing next years budgets! (Fin year being 1st July) so thankfully that has now come to an end! we had a lovely second week with Ali's mum and dad! seeing the sites, eating out and enjoying the sunshine!

Ali and Diane at Brunch!

Ali at the markets!

After a look round the shops and a trip to the markets we headed to a local beer garden for a drink and catch up before we headed to V Festival. The festival was at Centennial park, which is only a 30 min walk from our house! We arrived just in time to catch up with our friends and hit the bar before Razorlight came on.

Ozzie Kate, Me, Ali, Mark & Kate with our 5 drinks lmt per person!

Razorlight then played for 45 minutes, they are not that big in Oz so we managed to get really close to the stage!

Enjoying another beer or 2 in the sunshine before Kaiser Chiefs
40 minutes into the Kaiser Chiefs we decided to run to the other side of the park, past the Human league performing and watch Snow patrol

On the way we stopped to take the photos of the sun set, it was so pretty!

We decided t stay till the end of Snow Patrol and then ran back across to the other main stage to see the Killers! needless to say we lost everyone! but had a great time...The Killers just get better every time we see them!

The Killers in full swing!

It really was a great day out, and we only had to walk 30 mins to get home!
